Collection: Blues Rock
Blues Rock is probably the broadest term used in modern music. Even 'pop' is more defined. In our world, Blues Rock has its foundations in the British Blues Invasion, which happened parallel to the British Rock Invasion of the early to mid 60s. Artists like The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and Canned Heat, having been heavily influenced by Southern USA Blues artists, re-packaged the sound and took it back to the states.
It was from this movement that genres like Psychedelic Rock, Acid Rock and Southern Rock were born. Basically, this sound - of heavy guitars playing face-bending Blues riffs over noisy drums and groove-setting bass - was the pivot point around which the relationship between Rock, Country and Blues moved. And it's spawned some of the most important rock records of all time. Aftermath, Green River, and even Led Zeppelin II.
