Cult classic Empire Records is a mandatory part of any film collector's catalogue. It's a raw, gritty and often humorous look into a day in the lives of several teenagers and one manager at a suburban record store in the mid 90s.  

There are obligatory attacks on mass consumer culture, capitalist greed and bad tastes in music. With a burgeoning young cast this film launched the careers of several actors including Liv Tyler and Renee Zelwegger. 

And, of course, it has a killer soundtrack!
