Doggystyle is the genre defining debut album from the iconic Snoop Dogg. Riding the wave of notoriety that N.W.A had created for the fledgling Rap genre, Snoop created an album that captured the moment perfectly. Rap is black music born of early Rhythm and Blues, but in the mid 90s, kids of all colours turned to "Who Am I (What's My Name)" if they wanted to feel tough. Snoop saw and tapped into an angst that existed in all youth in that era. With Dr Dre behind the desk, a young slim rapper laid down fire in the booth. This is a masterfully produced album featuring samples and old school drum machine effects that simply have to be heard on vinyl.
