Josh Ritter - Fever Breaks (LP)

Josh Ritter is synonymous with modern Alt Country. In many ways, he's helped build the genre. Fever Breaks is part of that noble work. Released in 2019, it's another step toward immortality for Ritter as he explores a more sparse Americana sound. There's homages to Springsteen with "Old Black Magic", Bluegrass standards like "Silverblade" and Americana gems like "Blazing Highway Home". Only vinyl reveals all corners of this kind of music.
