An overwhelming passion for all things Blues Rock music was the catalyst that launched Bayou Records. And over the years, there has been no more consistent muse to feed that passion for us than John Mayer.
This clip, recorded live at the Crossroads Guitar festival in Chicago, showcases a side of John Mayer that we at the Bayou know and love, but one that many of you may have never experienced. It’s a whole vibe – soulful, rootsy and raw. The majority of John’s work post Battle Studies has been in this vein, exploring all corners of the Blues Rock genre. From Roots to Country and more recently even New Wave.
One thing has always been true though, there aren’t many as handy with a Stratocaster as John Mayer. There’s just something special about someone who can really make a guitar cry and sing, isn’t there?
